Aki Jones

Growing up, I remember drawing my "dream house" on graph paper as early as first grade! My memories of visiting the vibrant and lovingly decorated homes of my family, witnessing the renovation of my childhood home, and traveling to visit art museums all over the US and Europe instilled a love of art and design from a young age. I take great personal interest in historic preservation and the study of interiors, architecture, and furniture design, as well as the design world’s connection with all forms of art.

Having graduated from Florida State University’s Interior Architecture and Design program, after having spent half of my university experience through the COVID-19 crisis, I knew I wanted to design spaces that are authentic expressions of people's beings. After experiencing the challenges of such a tumultuous time, I have stood up to my challenges with my values strengthened – highlighting the intersections of sustainability, diversity, and social justice in design.

As an artistic designer from Miami, I believe I can offer new perspectives to the design realm. I believe that just as spaces can be crafted and transformed by the people, so too can people’s lived experience be affected by the spaces they reside in. Being a part of Errez Design is such a privilege – to be welcomed by such a unique design team whose vision aligns with mine. Under the guidance of my mentors Ruben, Katie, and Andrea, I am thrilled to take on new projects, meet new people and families, and take part in illustrating the beautiful biographies of our clients and friends.
